The Xplore IM 12 micro injection moulder is a compact, high-precision solution designed for efficient R&D screening, fitting easily on a lab bench or in a fume cupboard. With a 12 ml shot volume, it seamlessly integrates with Xplore twin-screw compounders or functions as a standalone unit for formulations that do not require mixing. This system enables fast, reliable, and cost-effective testing of new or expensive materials using minimal sample volumes. Its temperature-controlled mould housing prevents flashing with a securely locked, conically shaped, divisible mould. The compressed-air-powered plunger ensures precise injection, with adjustable holding pressure and time to minimize shrinkage. The injection unit can be filled directly from an Xplore micro compounder or manually with powders or granules, supporting one or two injection cycles per batch depending on the mould volume. A multi-cavity mould design allows several test samples to be produced in a single cycle. Standard mould options include certified dog bone-shaped tensile bars, Izod bars, and pharmaceutical tablet shapes, with custom moulds available for specialized needs.
